Rodman Reservoir Drawdown
Rodman Reservoir Drawdown…if haven’t heard of it, you will. Every 3 to 4 years the lake gets scheduled for what they refer to as a drawdown, most anglers could not begin to tell you what it ready is or does. But they do know that it means…”the fishing will be off the hook.”
To explain it, quite simply its when you take all the fish from one lake and put them in a lake 1/16 its size. But they don’t actually move fish, they simply drain all the water out of the existing lake which crams all the fish in one small area. Lucky you…we know where that spot is! The reservoir will be seven feet below normal water level for over three months from the middle of November 2015 to the beginning of March 2016. Anglers targeting largemouth bass, better yet “Trophy Bass” can expect to an excellent fishing experience using a variety of baits.
While the regulation (read below) will prevent any bass from being harvested, the stories, pictures and memories will surely last for a lifetime!
